Born and raised in the South Eastern region of Brazil, Sidney
was surrounded by some of the most beautiful
natural habitats of that country. Having also grown up
in an atmosphere of art, music and literature appreciation,
his love for the arts and all things beautiful was firmly
established. Sidney 's natural talent and artistic abilities
were recognized by his community at a young age.
He married a lovely French lady in 1980 and
moved to France where he chose a different career path
and today, he is a seasoned engineer. Nevertheless,
during his Parisien life period, he still kept a close contact with the fine arts by
visiting the wonderful museums in Paris such as the
Louvre and the Orsay museums, many times a year. At this period he also started taking privated painting classes.
In 1997, his job brought
him to USA with his wife and 3 children. In Maryland,
he was re-introduced to the fine art of painting with
pastel and oil. There, he learned the old masters' techniques
of Rubens, Rembrandt, and others.
In 2000, he and his family were relocated to North Texas, in the Telecom Corridor area. His life of fine arts started to become more active. He joined a group of local artists for a weekly painting session from life. The change from painting from photographs to painting from life has added a new quality dimension in his art works.
Today, his portrait paintings are in many private collections all around the world.
Sidney is a member of the American Society of Portrait
Artists and Portrait Society of America. |
